85% Merlot, 14% Cab Sauv, 1% Carmenere
This non-filtered wine is produced from vines planted with 85% merlot, 7% cabernet sauvignon, 6% cabernet franc, 1% malbec and 1% carmenere. Emilien is obtained by a 2-year decantation in foudres and used barrels. It has a garnet robe, tending towards ruby in young vintages, with orange hues for older vintages and onion peel for the very oldest. A fruity nose with ripe red berry aromas, predominantly blackcurrant and redcurrant with burnt almond and occasionally mushroom and undergrowth. It boasts a round, full and delicate palate with velvety tannins and a long and pleasantly complex finish. Emilien is a sophisticated wine that can be drunk young, thanks to its velvety tannins, or aged to discover the full depth of its terroir. It is a wine of great longevity.
