Alma Rosa is deeply rooted in the winemaking history of the Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara. Their home ranch, El Jabali, was one of the first certified organic vineyards on the central coast.
The famed La Encantada Vineyard, planted by Richard Sanford in 2000, produces wines that are the epitome of the Sta. Rita Hills. This medium-bodied wine is notable for its interplay of freshness and structure. Scintillating acidity runs counterpoint to earthy flavors of clay, bright red plum, and white flowers.
Focused aromas of pomegranate, salted meats, singed sage and meaty funk show on the dynamic nose of this bottling. The palate packs black raspberry together with smashed-rock flavors, with toasty oak adding baking spice elements to the finish.
