Solessence is a Chardonnay-driven blend complemented by Meunier and Pinot Noir, crafted as a true expression of the diverse terroirs of the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay. The vines average an impressive 45 years of age, bringing depth and concentration to the fruit. Half of the final blend is drawn from a perpetual reserve, adding layers of complexity and consistency across vintages. The base wine is raised primarily in stainless steel, with a small portion aged in wood, before spending two full years on the lees in bottle prior to disgorgement. Bottled without fining or filtration, the lot number on the back label identifies the base vintage.
In the glass, the wine shows an unusually fine mousse, with generous, plump fruit balanced by elegance and precision. A vibrant core of freshness is underscored by a distinctive stony salinity, giving the wine both energy and poise from the first sip through the lingering finish.
