A deeply compelling Napa Valley Cabernet from Fairchild Estate’s coveted Perrarus Block 1 and select rocky sites, the 2018 Stones No. 1 is a singular expression of site and vintage. This wine is crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, capturing both the power and elegance inherent to Pritchard Hill and St Helena fruit.
The 2018 vintage offers a dense, purple hue and a richly layered aromatic profile of ripe blue fruits, toasted spices, dark chocolate, and gravelly earth. On the palate it is full-bodied and opulent yet balanced, with fine tannins, a refined mineral backbone, and complex layers of blackberry, cassis, and hints of espresso and cedar that carry through a long, structured finish. With remarkable concentration and depth, this Cabernet is built for extended aging and will repay patience in the cellar.
From a site on Pritchard Hill and all Clone See of Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1 reveals a dense, purple color as well as killer notes of ripe blue fruits, toasted spices, chocolate, charcoal, and gravelly earth. With a full-bodied, opulent, incredibly sexy style, it's going to drink brilliantly for 20-25 years at a minimum. Drink 2021-2048
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1 is a total knock-out. Inky dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, new leather, espresso, licorice and dried herbs infuse this unctuous, full-throttle Cabernet with remarkable richness. Readers should expect an unabashedly flamboyant style. The No. 1 is a clonal selection sourced from Fairchild's Paramus Vineyard (formerly Montagna) on Pritchard Hill.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1 has an opaque purple-black color, erupting from the glass with powerful notes of crème de cassis, prunes and boysenberry preserves, plus suggestions of mocha, garrigue, Indian spices and cedar chest with a touch of black truffles. The full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruit preserves with bags of exotic spice accents and a sturdy frame, finishing long and earthy. Aged in 100% new French oak, the fruit here comes from Block 1 of the the estate-owned Perrarus vineyard, located on Pritchard Hill.
