The 2022 La Solitude Cotes-du-Rhone Rouge is one of those easy drinking reds with all the juicy fruit you want with just enough backbone to keep it sturdy and a little hint of spice to well, spice things up!
The 2022 vintage is one of the best vintages the Cotes-du-Rhone has seen in the last five years and we are super psyched with how delicious this one is tasting. Coming from one of the oldest families of Chateauneuf du Pape, it's really no surprise! The blend on this is 45% Grenache, 45% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre.
In the glass you get deep dark purple tones with ruby highlights and while you might expect something big and full bodied, this one lands more in the medium category, just light enough without losing any depth. The nose is full of dark berry compote, violets, graphite, and lavender. The palate mimics the nose with even more exploding juiciness of blackberry, currant, strawberries, blueberries, pomegranate with hints of raspberry liqueur, star anise, cedar, forest floor, wild thyme, and lavender. The tannins are super integrated to give a nice structure but leaving you with a supple, easy drinking, gorgeous wine.
A juicy, delicious and fruit-driven blend of grenache, syrah and mourvedre. Notes of strawberries, candied cherries and baking spices follow through to a medium body with fine tannins. It's playful, juicy and everything you expect from a Cotes-du-Rhone with a spicy flair
