El Tesoro is produced at the historic La Alteña Distillery in Jalisco’s highland region (Los Altos), founded in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena. The operation is now guided by the Camarena family, with Jenny Camarena recently becoming the first female master distiller while upholding traditional methods.

Crafted from 100% blue Weber agave grown in mineral-rich soil using traditional techniques:
Slow-baked in stone or brick ovens
Crushed with a tahona wheel (stone mill)
Fermented in open-air wooden tanks with natural fibers
Double-distilled in copper pots
Bottled immediately after distillation to maintain purity at 80 proof (40% ABV), with no aging
