TASTING NOTES: Enticing and delicate aromas of dried floral, herbs and restrained, yet ripe, red fruits lead the nose. Balanced and voluptuous, the palate shows red and black cherries, blackberry and plum which lingers into the finish, mingling with layers of savory cooking spices and hints of shaved dark chocolate. Age for at least 5-10 years to reach its peak drinking window.
This beautifully bold wine is made from 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Cabernet Franc. It opens in thick tannins and burly black fruit before unfurling slowly in the glass to reveal savory elements of crushed rock and dried herb. Lavender, licorice and toasted oak ride a secondary wave of complex flavor. Enjoy this in due time, ideally from 2024–2030.
Solid dark plum and berry notes lead off, trailed by singed vanilla and tobacco accents on the finish, ending with a light tug of loam. Should open up a bit more with brief cellaring. Rather Cab Franc in profile, showing a muscular feel. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2020 through 2028. 2,044 cases made.
