This release also welcomes the first vintages of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the William Hines Vineyard in the northern corridor of the Sta. Rita Hills. With a microclimate and soil profile disparate from the vineyards we have long enjoyed on Santa Rosa Road, the Chardonnay here shows a limpid color and equal clarity and precision in Honeycrisp apple, lemon meringue, jasmine and fresh cinnamon butter. The palate leans further into fruit and flower primacy, as soft texture balances a snappy, tart edge with quite the finish. A delicious debut for William Hines Vineyard Chardonnay.
Fabulously layered, creamy, delicate and mellow, with honey, almond, chalk and macadamia nut flavors on a rich texture, ending with a long, lacy finish. An indulgent, mouth-coating wine that doesn't get heavy. Drink or hold.
