The 2016 Podernuovo a Palazzone 'Argirio' Toscana Cabernet Franc comes from a 100% organically farmed estate in the heart of Tuscany. NO CHEMICAL PESTICIDES OR FERTILIZERS ARE USED. This ruby-red/black beauty is loaded with black cherry and boysenberry fruits with deeper blackberries and spiced plum over shaved bitter-sweet chocolate and graphite. This wine was aged in French oak barriques for 12 months and the tannins are ripe and fine-grained. After 7 years, this wine is just glassy-smooth and silky and drinking beautifully. Warm earth and tobacco notes unfurl as this wine opens up.
A red with blueberry and raspberry character, as well as black olive. Full body. Medium-chewy tannins. Flavorful finish. Shows polish and seriousness, as always. Try after 2020.
