The nose is inviting with red plum and Earl Grey tea aromas.  Flavors of slightly zingy Rainier cherry and blood orange frame darker cherry, lavender, and new leather aromas. The texture is velvety with soft tannins and finishes bright with a long aftertaste.

Savoy Vineyard in the Anderson Valley of Mendocino County is one of California’s most highly-regarded, classic Pinot Noir vineyards, and for good reason. The wines are compelling and have concentration and depth while speaking loudly of their specific place. The 2022 Savoy is true to form and is a seductive wine. The nose is inviting with red plum and Earl Grey tea aromas.  Flavors of slightly zingy Rainier cherry and blood orange frame darker cherry, lavender, and new leather aromas. The texture is velvety with soft tannins and finishes bright with a long aftertaste. I used to think Savoy should be enjoyed within the first 5-7 years from release but based on a recent vertical tasting, I discovered they can evolve with time into something a little different and compelling. This is not at all necessary as our Savoy at the time of release is often the most approachable wine we make. But, if you buy a half case, or more, sock a few away for a rainy day down the road to see what happens.
