From a superb St. Helena site, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard is a 330-case cuvée of nearly 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Boasting a dense ruby/purple color along with notes of graphite, crushed rocks, white flowers, and black currants, its plush, Pomerol-like style reveals low acidity as well as heady, concentrated, powerful flavors that linger on the palate. There are no hard edges to this 2004, which offers immediate gratification, but promises to age for 12-15 or more years.
