I tasted the 2022 Chardonnay Lucky Well Vineyard a month before it was due to be bottled—it's currently maturing for 18 months in Remond and Taransaud oak barrels. It opens with youthful matchstick aromas that give way slowly to white peach, apricot, dried jasmine and spice. The medium-bodied palate combines concentrated, mineral-driven flavors with a satiny, mouth-coating texture, and its bright, shimmery acidity calls you in for another sip on the long finish. 130 cases will be bottled, and the Lucky Well will be released in September of 2024.
