This vineyard is located on Dry Creek Road, directly across the street from the winery. It is farmed by Randy Peters, who was born on the property, and named after his late mother, Pauline.
We have two separate blocks of Merlot in Pauline’s Vineyard that behave very differently. The first block, closest to the road, is where we get our power and intensity. And the second block, closer to the creek in sandier soils, is where we get our beautiful aromatics and finesse. Blending the two together always gives us a complex Merlot that we think is the best that California has to offer. Merlot has been the black sheep Bordeaux varietal over the past decade, but we see this red fruited beauty returning to the spotlight. If you think you don’t like Merlot, think again!
