Craig Jaffurs started this winery and is now owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of Dan and Janelle Green. Jaffurs is famous for its Rhone reds, but this new Pinot is sourced from some of the top vineyards in Santa Barbara, and the quality here is incredible! Loaded with fresh raspberry and vivid cherry fruits over pomegranate and savory earth notes, this Pinot is fresh and pure with gorgeously integrated spice and smoky minerals. 25% whole cluster fermentation adds structure and fills out the aromatics beautifully with hints of spice and herbs. This wine is superbly complex and has a plush mid-palate creamy richness that unfurls with about 3 minutes in the glass.
This countywide cuvée is quite an accomplishment, starting with aromas of tart raspberry, cranberry and lots of chaparral. The palate is layered in purple fruit, pepper, lavender and charred game flavors, with acid brightening the long-lasting finish. Editor's Choice
The 2022 Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County) is an absolute delight. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon, and orange peel and spice are nicely delineated, with a kick of brightness from the 25% stems that pulls it all together. This is such a pretty, harmonious wine.
