Named “Eighteen Seventy-Three” in honor of 1873, when Captain William Peterson established a pioneering winery on what became the HALL estate—at one point producing 40% of Napa Valley’s vintage. Crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon (often 99%) with a splash of Petit Verdot, the wine comes from HALL’s eastern Napa Vaca Range vineyards.
Opaque deep purple in color, this luxuriously rendered wine comes from the eastern Vaca range of the Napa Valley. It expands on the palate with a richness of plum, cinnamon, brown sugar and dark chocolate. Smooth and sturdy in tannin, it finishes with a taste of hazelnut.
Blackcurrant, licorice, incense, forest floor, plum, dark chocolate, kirsch, hazelnut, exotic spice. Plush tannins, rich mid-palate, polished mouthfeel.
