This wine comes from the Langhe area that sits just outside the famous vineyard "Crus" of Barbaresco in the heart of Piedmont. The vineyards that go into this gorgeous wine are sandy hillsides laying just outside the traditional boundaries of Barbaresco and these phenomenal blocks produce a red-focused, vibrant, and amazingly pure expression of Nebbiolo. These grapes are blended with Barbera which adds a strawberry and fresh blueberry note to this wine that makes it impossible to resist. 12 months aging in oak barrels round out the mouthfeel but this wine is pure and not at all heavy or dark. There is a weightless feel to this wine and its juicy cherry and perfumed hints of rose petal and smoky mineral dance with its core of vibrant berry and cherry and the finish is long and well structured with a mouth-watering and crunchy grip that never overpowers the charm of its fruit. This gem is delicious right now but can age for a decade and continue to improve and evolve.
