Fabio Motta’s Pievi Bolgheri Rosso 2021 is a polished, terroir-driven Tuscan red that blends Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%), and Sangiovese (25%) in classic Bolgheri style. Made with indigenous yeasts, no filtration, and aged in used French oak for over a year, it reflects a natural, minimalist winemaking ethos.
Expect a bright ruby hue with layered aromas of black fruit, violets, and subtle spice. On the palate, it’s fresh, balanced, and structured, with ripe tannins and a clean, mineral finish. It's approachable now, but has 5–8 years of aging potential.
Motta, a protégé of Michele Satta, is recognized as one of Bolgheri’s rising talents, crafting wines of elegance, precision, and value. Pievi 2021 is an excellent entry point into the region, offering character well beyond its price point.
