From one of Nuits-Saint-Georges’ most revered monopoles, this biodynamically farmed Pinot Noir reveals layers of dark cherry, violet, and crushed stone. The 2022 vintage balances depth and finesse, with fine-grained tannins and a mineral-driven finish that speaks to the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Elegant now, it promises to evolve beautifully over the next decade.
The domaine's history dates back to the late 18th century when Jean-Charles Viénot constructed a 4 km wall around the Arlot parcel, now known as Clos de l'Arlot. In 1987, AXA Millésimes acquired the estate, further enhancing its reputation.
Since 2015, Géraldine Godot, a microbiologist and oenologist, has been at the helm of winemaking at Domaine de l'Arlot. Under her leadership, the estate has embraced biodynamic farming practices, certified organic since 2014. Godot emphasizes minimal intervention in the cellar, employing traditional vinification methods such as manual harvesting, gentle extraction, and aging in oak barrels with restrained use of new wood .
