Domaine de Ladoucette is a benchmark producer in the Pouilly‑Fumé appellation, located in Pouilly‑sur‑Loire, in the Loire Valley’s Upper Loire region. The vineyards sit on classic Kimmeridgian marl and silex (flinty) soils, which impart the signature smoky, “gunflint” character typical of Pouilly‑Fumé.
Matured on the natural lees for 3–6 months before bottling to enhance texture and complexity, then stored in inert glass-lined tanks before release. Citrus fruits (lemon, lime), nettle, gooseberry, subtle kiwi, and wild herb nuances, overlaid with clean mineral and flinty smoke character.
Pouilly‑Fumé often drinks well young—2024 vintage should be approachable in 2025, but it will also age gracefully for 3–5 years or more, depending on storage and personal taste for evolving minerality.
