Tasted at the Bollinger RD vertical in Paris. Tasted from magnum disgorged in 2006 and served blind, the 1975 RD is a belter. The nose has great precision and mineralite, shimmering with lime leaf, cold granite and green gooseberry. There just comes across a great sense of class and breeding, perhaps more so than the 1976 RD. The palate is supremely well balanced and fits the nose like a glove: focused, leaner than the 1976, precise and minerally. It almost behaves like a mature Blanc de Blancs with its brilliant delineation finish that displays great length. Utterly sublime.
