The oldest vines that go into this gorgeous red were planted in 1925, giving this wine fabulously complex and elegant flavors with silky, succulent textures. These gnarly vines are organically dry-farmed and planted on high-altitude vineyards of granite and slate that impart incredible minerality to this stunning value. Aromas of spiced plum, dark cherry, raspberry coulis, and blueberries leap from the glass and dance with savory notes of licorice, freshly cracked pepper, and herbs de Provence. Perfumed hints of lavender and rose petals really give this wine an elegance and regal character.
Raised all in 500- and 600-liter barrels (all used), the 2021 Breca has a Châteauneuf du Pape-like bouquet of black raspberries, licorice, peppery herbs, and spice. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, rich, voluptuous, concentrated Garnacha with fine tannins and a great finish.
