The 2012 Proprietary Red EE is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Cabernet Franc from two vineyard sources in Oakville, the Tench and Tin Box. This virtually perfect wine exhibits an opaque purple color along with notes of incense, camphor, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, licorice, barbecue smoke and spring flowers. Full-bodied with silky tannin and a finish that lasts nearly 60 seconds, there are 400 cases of this gorgeous 2012.
Amazingly rich and soulful, with tiers of juicy, plush blackberry, pomegranate and wild berry at the core, showing subtle touches of cedar, toasty oak, graphite, licorice, berry jam and spice. For all the centered density and concentration there's a captivating measure of grace and finesse here.
The 2012 EE Red Wine Blend brings together two first-class sites in Oakville, Tench and Tin Bos. Ripe, silky tannins grace the palate as this expressive, resonant wine opens up in the glass. Mocha, espresso, dark red cherries, plums and tobacco are all radiant and deeply nuance. The varietal blend is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Cabernet Franc, and it is the Franc that really brings the aromatic fireworks. Hints of raspberry jam, white truffles and spices add the final notes of complexity.
