This 2021 Nuits-Saint-Georges from Maison Bertrand Ambroise embodies the renowned power and finesse of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. Grown organically in parcels around Nuits-Saint-Georges and Prémeaux-Prissey, the 100 % Pinot Noir was vinified with careful precision and matured for around 14 months in oak (approx. 60 % new). On the nose expressive layers of black cherry, cassis and plum combine with perfumed spice and toasted oak. The palate offers density and structure, yet remains graceful — ripe rounded tannins frame a core of dark and red berry fruit with an undercurrent of game-and-earth notes. Approachable now with a good decant, with further refinement through 2028-2036. Serve with duck, venison, wild mushrooms or a mature cheese for an elevated Burgundy experience.
