Gavi has been called one of Italy's best-kept secrets and Giordano Lombardo is making one of the best. The winery sits just outside the medieval village of Gavi in Northern Italy and straddles the border of Piedmont and Liguria. The estate is Demeter-certified, which is the gold standard for biodynamic practices. This certification shows a level of care and commitment that goes far beyond most.
The 2022 Giordano Lombardo is bone dry, zippy, and vibrant! Pale-straw in color you get enticed into the glass with lemon and lime zest, watermelon rind, and almonds. The palate is steely, laser-focused, and crisp. A gorgeous mixture of lemon, lime, honey crisp apple, watermelon, acacia flowers, honeydew, and crushed sea shell minerality, all combined into one yummy and delightful white wine!
