We've been big fans of Cliff Lede Wines for many years, for many reasons. The Cabernets are dynamic and complex, and on top of that, we celebrated a joint 20th birthday last year for Meritage Wine Market and Cliff Lede Winery! But what's more, they make phenomenal white wine as well! We got to revisit their 2021 Sauvignon Blanc recently and were floored by this bold, layered, and refreshing white!
Technically, it's 90% Sauvignon Blanc with 9% Semillon and 1% Sauvignon Vert - a very Bordeaux-esque blend! We tasted it immediately upon release last year and we can say that it's just getting better, with golden grapefruit, honeysuckle, spiced pear, and lemon curd, driven by a vein of minerality and verve.
This is an outstanding white blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc with 9% Sémillon and 1% Sauvignon Vert. Bright and fresh in peach and wet stone, it is nicely textured, with just enough weight and breadth to add complexity and structure.
This has wonderful intensity and firmness to the fleshy core of nectarine, dried pineapple, Key lime and honeysuckle. Mouthwatering finish.
